H-6 Evolves into Beijing’s Hammer

China has steadily developed it’s variant of the Tupolev Tu-16 into a strike asset that troubles US defence strategists.

Chinese Navy deployed its new long-range bomber, the H-6J during a recent drill in the South China Sea, local media reported.
Chinese media reported that the H-6J can carry up to 7 YJ-12 supersonic anti-ship cruise missiles, with 6 under the wings and 1 in the weapon bay. The aircraft’s weapon capacity is about twice that of the H-6G, with a higher combat radius of about 3,500 kilometers.
